You can often see (with a 60x spotting scope) moutain goats climbing the near vertical ledges along the face of this mountain....looking for scarce winter lichens on the south facing slopes of the peak. The first time you see them, you think they must be in trouble. "How did they get there, how will they get down. Surely they will die." And then they climb down to the next lower ledge, as if there was nothing to it.
